Happy Halloween!

On Wednesday night we went to the First Presbyterian Church fall festival. This is Jon's parents church as well as Garrison's preschool that he goes to on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. His cousins were so cute, Noah as a cowboy and Joshua as a cow! Garrison had a great time and enjoyed the ring toss, bean bag throw and the cake walk even though we didn't ever win a cake! He also liked the fishing game and decorating a cookie and then eating it! We hope everyone has a safe and happy halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

We met Jon's sister Leigh and her family at the pumpkin patch on Sunday. It was a beautiful day outside and there were plenty of pumpkins to choose from. Garrison and Noah enjoyed picking a pumpkin out to take home!

September (a month in review)

The first weekend in September (Labor day weekend) we traveled to Port Aransas to meet up with all our friends from UT. Most of them were from my sorority Phi Lamb and Jon's fraternity BYX. We had such a great weekend with everyone and Garrison enjoyed playing with all his new friends. The weekend of the 18th we traveled to San Antonio with my parents, John, April and the boys and met my sister and her family at the Wild Oak Ranch resort. We had a great time swimming, playing on the play ground, eating smores and being together as a family. It was great having John back and being able to enjoy everything with him. We also went to Sea World on Sunday and all the kids loved that. Then the last weekend in September we drove up to Austin and stayed with Greg and Rebecca Palmer and went to the UT/UTEP game. We had a great weekend with the Palmers and Garrison enjoyed playing with Brock and all his toys! Thank you Greg and Rebecca for a fun weekend! That was Garrison's first UT game and he loved it! He still talks about seeing Bevo on the field and he tells us he was far away but that he saw Bevo run on the BIG TV! Sunday, September 27th was Jon's 33rd birthday so we celebrated it the Thursday before we left to Austin at Outback. On Sunday night when we got back into town we celebrated at our house with Jon's sister and her family and had a great time with them. Garrison had to wear his birthday crown from Chuck E Cheese while we celebrated Jon's birthday!

Garrison turns 2!

Today is Garrison's 2nd birthday and we have celebrated it for about a week and a half. My sister and her family came into town on August 21st so we had Garrison's birthday at Chuck E Cheese on Sunday August 23rd which is my dad's birthday. Garrison enjoyed his birthday so much. He loved playing all the games and then enjoyed the birthday show. He also loved the yummy cupcakes! We had a great time celebrating with him and it was fun to see how much he enjoyed his party.

Then last Thursday Jon's parents had us over for dinner to celebrate his birthday. He had fun opening presents and he was so excited about his cake. I had asked him about two weeks before his birthday what he wanted on his cake and he told me WORMS (Jon's sister had made a cake back in July for her sons birthday and it had gummy worms on it). Then he said he wanted Grandma (Jon's mom) to make him a chocolate cake with worms on it. She did exactly that and he loved every bite of it! He was very excited about his worm cake!

Today he started his first day of preschool at Lynn Flowers where his Great Aunt Pat is the director. He will be going from 9:00 to 11:45 Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He went right in and started playing with the race cars. We took cupcakes to his class today to celebrate his birthday again! Tonight my parents, Jon and I took Garrison again to Chuck E Cheese. Garrison had to wear his crown that he got at his birthday party.

We have enjoyed these past two years so much with Garrison. We are so thankful and so blessed. We look forward to many more fun years with him.

Swim Swim Swim!

Garrison took swimming lessons from his Great Aunt Pat and he is swimming! He has had plenty of pool time this summer since he stays during the day with either my mom or Jon's mom and they both have pools so taking swim lessons was a great bonus! He is not afraid at all of the water and will swim from the steps to you and then swim back on his own. Here's a short video from one of his lessons with Aunt Pat.

Summer Fun!

Sorry it's been quite a while since I've posted something. We have been having so much fun enjoying the summer weekends with Garrison. A few weekends ago we met some of our friends Matt and Shelley and their little girl Kelsey at Sea World. We had a great time and Kelsey loved the dolphins and even fed them. They also enjoyed the Shamu show and Garrison is still talking about Shamu. They both loved playing in the water too!

This weekend we went to South Padre and my sister and her kids joined us as well as my parents. We went to Schlitterbahn at the beach on Friday and had a great time. Garrison rode in the inner tube and wasn't afraid of the rapids or the big slides. There is also a castle with small slides and he did most of those by himself. We had so much fun spending time with family and playing at the beach.

Before we left the beach we cleaned up the condo. Garrison loves to vacuum so I had to get some pictures of him vacuuming.

Garrison is currently taking swimming lessons from his Aunt Pat so I will be sure to post pictures of that soon. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Weekend in Georgia

Last weekend we flew to Atlanta Georgia for my cousins graduation from high school. We had a great weekend with family. We spent time at the park and Garrison had fun running after the geese, and walking the BIG golden retriever. The ice cream truck arrived at the park so the whole family went to get ice cream. Garrison loves ice cream! While at the park the guys decided to play a game of ultimate frisbee and Jon fell on his shoulder while catching the frisbee and separated his shoulder. So after a few hours at Urgent Care they put him in a immobilizer and told us to see an Orthopedic surgeon once we got home. We went to dinner with the family later that evening and Garrison had salsa for the first time, I guess salsa in Georgia is not as hot as our South Texas salsa...he really liked it! We had a great weekend even though Jon got hurt. He saw a surgeon when we got home and they said that it was a third degree ac joint separation but it will heal on its own with no surgery needed...we are very thankful for that!
